Free Your Voice and Unlock Your Vocal Potential with Voice Teacher Sarah Weatherwax

Vocal and Body Warmups

Do you warm-up your voice on a regular basis before you walk into your vocal booth? Do you know how to warm up your voice? Sarah Weatherwax has more than twenty years experience teaching voice to actors, coaching actors on set and off, and doing voice acting for television and film. During this 90-minute webinar, you’ll learn a few of the voice & body warm-ups that the world’s most famous actors utilize on a regular basis.

What You’ll Learn

Sarah will offer a brief explanation of how our voices work and how our vocal blocks keep us safe, but limit us as expressive artists. Then she will lead participants in an easy-going voice & body warm-up.

By gently releasing vocal blocks or habits, you will become more vocally relaxed and flexible and this can mean a broader range of work becomes available to you. After working with Sarah, her students say that their accent and vocal character work improves and they become more direct-able and instinctive. They can work longer periods without vocal fatigue. They can stretch their voices further with more ease and fullness. The benefits of a free speaking voice are numerous.

For example, if you do a lot of yelling, grunting, screaming or fight scenes, Sarah can teach you exercises for lengthening through your spine and letting huge breaths drop into your body deeply and quickly, so you avoid strain and protect that amazing voice of yours! Voice warm-ups help with subtlety too, not just with releasing big feelings. With a free voice, you can access vocal clarity or messiness, you can choose to let emotion shine through or go for a more intellectual read. From a starting place of freedom and ease, you can do pretty much anything with your voice.

Your voice is the conduit for your talent! Keep it safe.

And for people who chronically push or muscle their voices, letting go of these unproductive habits and re-learning a more natural connection with voice can mean avoiding permanent damage. If left unchecked, vocal pushing and straining can affect your voice in many negative ways. In some cases, chronic misuse of the speaking voice will bring a VO’s career to a complete halt.

Voice is like painting from the inside out with vibrations! Don’t limit your potential by ignoring the most important part of your career – your voice.

Join us on July 26th from 7 – 8:30 pm ET, to begin freeing your voice so you unlock your full vocal potential!

Come as you are. Wear comfy clothing, have water nearby and get ready to stretch your mind, your body and your voice.
